You weren´t kidding about the Indiana Jones quality on this book; this double spread is a great example of it. That plane is gorgeous and the fact you´re doing your own sound fx reallly adds a lot of flow and character to the sequence. I have a question: when you work your double pages, you told me that you cut the big sheet of paper, and then tape it together; but how do you handle the bleed out line in the middle of both pages?
Does it make any sense?
Either way, bitchin´ stuff you Eisner Nominee :)
All the best, Sean

Just REALLY careful inking. And I try not to have anything major important within the crease. :)

Excellent! So, I plan the double page trying to leave the less important objects or pieces of information within the crease. Thanks so much for the insight, Sean.
Best of lucks on the Eisner Awards thing, both you and Zach.
Cheers!

You handle speed lines so damn well, man. Just patience, a steady hand, and a ruler?

:iconseangordonmurphy:
seangordonmurphy Featured By Owner Jul 20, 2011
Yeah. Maybe not that steady. With a quill and a ruler there's a quick trick to getting them done.

I'll mail you some Arrogant Bastard if you'll load up and and rain down some inky wrath on Sketchup! lol I really like the program, but I see it's abuse is unchecked. I was sitting outside Gallery Espresso telling an illustration grad about how I thought you were the mother fuckinest person to come from that school.

I would buy books with just your inks. Don't need no words, don't need no colors!

Are you using Sketch-Up or anything for your vehicles/buildings? They're unbelievable.
