I have no problems at all when the movies are too far apart, such as the old batman movies and the current ones, since they would be unable to make things consistent as actors get old and all that stuff.

When they are too close however (cough, Hulk, cough), I really wish they could've done a better job on the first go; they don't have to foresee everything right off the bat (yes, the whole Avengers thing), but at least make a decent movie.

The same goes for the Spider Man trilogy, the first one was incredibly cool, the second one was ok and the third one was just painful! There are so many wrongs there I could write a journal just about them.

So yeah, there are times when rebooting is almost a necessity, but I really wish they truly tried to make something amazing instead of something lame as usual.

Like Cowboy Bebop. If they did a half way decent job that movie could be fantastic- film noir with a tad of Kubrick like genius and some damn good acting. That's all it needs.

If they keep Keanu Reeves on as Spike, it may fail.

It WILL fail. Keanu Reeves is no Spike Speigel.

definitely, I'm hoping they drop him.

Toby Kebbel. One hundred times better and he would make an awesome Spike. Check him out on youtube or something, he's amazing.

Yeah, All he needs is the hair and the blue suit. Looks a lot like spike in the facial structure.

Absolutely. We should start a petition!

And the acting talent! My god is he talented.

Maybe if they actually READ the comics before the make the movies, to get a better fill of who would be best suited for the role, instead of getting a bunch of Hollywood losers who're only famous because they're famous...

And maybe if comic companies thought ahead of time and don't go for instant gratification with their books reboots wouldn't be necessary. You know, like thinking "would it be a good idea to kill this-" "we don't have time for that!" Of course, that's after they fix the mistakes they make.

i think the problem is hollywood isn't making these movies to please the comic book fans. they take titles of characters that are at least modertley known like who doesn't know who superman is even if they never read comics? they want to appeal to the general public. people who might never open a comic book or give a hoot about any of the characters deep personal backgrounds. they just want to make a film (or series of films) with good looking movie stars, and just enough plot to keep people entertained. I enjoy most comic book based movies, but then of course i haven't actually been reading comics until very very recently. so when i first watched spiderman and batman i didn't really know didly squat about them, but i enjoyed the films. and it was thanks to hollywood making comics into films that got me into reading them in the first place. it was the watchmen movie (which tends to get a lot of bad rap) that made me pick up the watchmen book. and i fell in love with it. yet i also loved the movie, even though it tended to be a little silly and they cut a lot out of it.
whew! typing a lot here lol. i guess i'm just trying to say is i don't mind them making the movies. even if they don't really follow what the comic books are about i still think most of them are fun enjoyable movies.
