Hellblazer two-page spread.

The script called for a night shot of London near the busy Circus Station. I came across these great photo refs and wanted to do a pan with a "time delay camera" affect on traffic lights off to one side. But with one page it was too much to fit, so I got the okay from my editor to make it a two page spread.

It took forever but in the end it was worth it.

This is just pure awesome. I was stunned for a good minute starring at the quality of the narrative, perspectives and balance of tones.

And this is also the first time I've seen fingerprints used for toning/shading! Wow! They've been put to good use!

Amazing effort buddy, I'm sure others who read this will have a quick flashback of what Piccadilly Circus in London late in the night is all about (oh wait it's Oxford Station!). :+fav:

Nuts! Pure magic. I think a page (or two pages :) ) can't look better like this! Respect!

Can you tell how long you have worked on the double page spread from first layout to finished inks?

Best,

Chris

Amazing job! I wish I had your patience~
Did you do the glow around the street lamp traditionally or is that added digitally? ( the other screentones? )
Also, I love the use of your thumbprint :3 What a handy tool~

Said it once and I'll say it again: Pound for pound you are, in my opinion, the most inspiring and risk taking maverick on the comic book scene. Dare I say deserving of the type of attention that your high profiled predessors have received while at DC. Well done, bro!
