I felt like drawing Spider Man 2099, but he couldn't just appear with any old Wolverine...so I drew Wolverine 2099! With laser claws!
And now the back story. I was drinking last night with my art dealer, Paolo. I was having trouble thinking of who to draw for Wolverine D, so I asked him who he'd like to see. I don't remember what he said (something lame probably). But while I was ignoring him, I suddenly thought of Spider Man 2099--and it all came together in one glorious moment. Me: Paolo! How about Wolverine 2099? Paolo: There WAS no Wolverine 2099. Me: Yeah but there should have been. Paolo: That's retarded. How much have you had? Me: And because it's in the future, Wolverine could be all tripped out on future stuff...like lasers! Paolo: That's so stupid. Please stop talking. Me: Get it? Lasers because he's in the future! He'll have three mini light sabres coming out of a glove on each hand! Like he built it out of spare future parts! Paolo: Wolverine with lasers? That sucks. He'll look like a light show at a Rush concert. Me: Light show?! Are you calling Luke Skywalker a "light show"? That dude was business on two feet! Paolo: (laughing) Business on two feet? If only I hadn't ordered my business cards... I thought it was pretty cool, but Paolo didn't. Which means I had to do it just to spite him. |
