Love it, I think it's one of the best in your gallery. Reminded me of the Degas painting, Woman With a Vase of Flowers 1865. All those lines, colors, and details forcing you to focus on the woman subject.
I picked this up today at SDCC and it is awesome. Tasteful nude and a great tiger. Amazing colors with great linework. You gotta get a sketchbook for next year! But it was great to meet you as your ride the success that will be punk rock Jesus.
At least it doesn't look like Colleen... I have a friend who can't stop drawing his girlfriend topless in his illustration work. One of them is gonna be published in Playboy in November (along with an illustration by yours truly).
I feel awkward whenever I see her in person.
I hope you don't make too much money on these prints at SDCC and reduce yourself to a naked lady drawer like everyone else. Though I bet they'll sell well.
I don't think the problem is t&a, I think the problem is the mentality of most of the people that do it. There are people who do some really cool, really classy smut. It's all about context, and in the case of this piece, the main figure is being sexualized no more than she's allowing, you know? It's cool because it's sexy art, not dirty porn.
There's a difference between perverted T&A/ nudity and tasteful. You do it tastefully. There's nothing wrong with pinups, which you do very well. This is nothing more than a Sean Murphy-ized modern take on the pinup.
You may not be in to it, but you do it exceptionally well. She has weight and her body makes sense (my only observation is that her legs are a little long) which is more than I can say for most pin-up artists. She looks pretty badass, too.
You have such a great style, it's hard not to love everything you do.
Dude, you're a badass. I like that it's not just blatant pornography (which has it's own special place in my heart). It's sexy yes, it's smoldering yes, but it also looks like you used your artistic vision and talents. I dig it man.
How was this made? Pencils, ink, ... the interior of the tiger and babe could be marker ... but I don't understand how the brown background could be paint 'cause you go right to the edge of the outlines. x_X
Sean, any chance you sell some copies for some folks in Brazil.Me and some friends, artists too(I can even send reference of our works if you want) we are huge fans of your work,Even before you start working on DC.About the payment and shipping, you could deal with our art rep, that lives in USA,if you want. Iīm asking this because itīs not so easy for us to travel to USA,and itīs harder to go to an event like SDCC.In case you agree,we can talk about this by e-mail.
